Overview
A Heights homeowner wanted more than a fence — a front statement. We designed and built a 16-foot automated driveway gate, two pedestrian gates, and 90 feet of matching panels, all hand-forged with a live-oak leaf motif drawn from the property's oldest tree.
The Challenge
Automation and artistry rarely agree: a 16-foot gate must glide silently for decades, yet every scroll and collar adds weight and wind load. The masonry columns were already built, so every panel had to land on fixed anchor points within an eighth of an inch.
Our Approach
We built a full jig from laser measurements of the columns, forged the ornament separately, then married it to a rigid hidden frame. Hinges were machined and shimmed like cabinetry; the operator was tuned over three visits until the gate closed on a whisper.
